Working in broadcast television for more than 30 years, I have been involved in a variety of productions, creating graphics and animations for programmes such as Teletubbies, BBC Panorama, C4 Cutting Edge and Have I got News for You as well as many children’s songs for Oxford University Press. Illustration is at the core of a lot of the work I produce, and when I am not busy on a production I enjoy working on images of our local coast and countryside.
The picture of the Monk in June in the 2021 Calendar and the Christmas card – Merry Christmas Stained Glass have been produced using methods I regularly use in my job. Each picture is first made up of several of my own photographs, digitally ‘sewn’ together. I use this image as a reference to produce a hand drawn pencil and watercolour picture which is then digitally mixed back with textures and elements from the original image. I then add more hand painted textures and enhance specific colours to emphasise aspects of the picture before producing a high quality giclée print. Each print is then signed and numbered as part of a limited edition run before being framed.
